Education
I hold a Masters in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford and a Degree in Education Studies from the University of Winchester. I also hold a CELTA Qualification [Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults] and have a genuine passion for education in it's widest sense and for life-long learning.
Experience
I have worked with young people aged 10-22 yrs in a variety of settings over the course of the past eight years. This has included: the teaching of English as a foreign language both in the UK and abroad, the delivery of both group and 1-1 sessions relating to employability, education and personal development (delivered to a variety of ages and abilities) and private tutoring, which I now operate on a full time basis. I have an in-depth understanding of the wide spectrum relating to academic and social abilities and recognise that there are a range of challenges and barriers to learning. In light of this, I take the time to listen, understand and communicate effectively with each individual learner, in order to quickly establish a positive working relationship. My various roles have required me to be personable, trustworthy, confident and sensitive in my manner. It is these qualities, together with my relevant work experience, qualifications and a genuine interest in supporting individuals to achieve, that drive my passion for tutoring. Please note that £45 is my minimum charge and therefore the amount may be increased to varying degrees depending on level and age of learner.
